Safety
Warranty
Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Bolt 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Polestar covers the 4. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Polestar 4 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.
There are over 93 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Polestar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Bolt’s warranty.
Tires and Wheels
The Bolt has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.
Chassis
The Chevrolet Bolt may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1150 to 1500 pounds less than the Polestar 4.
The Bolt is 1 foot, 9 inches shorter than the Polestar 4, making the Bolt easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The Bolt is 9.4 inches narrower than the Polestar 4, making the Bolt easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.
Passenger Space
The Bolt has 2.1 inches more front legroom and 2.5 inches more rear legroom than the Polestar 4.
Cargo Capacity
The Bolt has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Polestar 4 with its rear seat folded (56.3 vs. 54.2 cubic feet).
Servicing Ease
A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Bolt to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for tire rotation, based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Polestar doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Polestar 4.
Ergonomics
To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Bolt has standard extendable sun visors. The Polestar 4 doesn’t offer extendable visors.
The Bolt’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Polestar 4’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.
The Bolt is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the Polestar 4, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Bolt offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the Polestar 4.
HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Bolt equipped with available HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The Polestar 4, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Chevrolet Bolt empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.
