The Chevrolet Blazer EV has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The EQB doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Blazer EV’s standard pretensioning seatbelts also sense rear collisions and remove slack from the seatbelts to help protect the occupants from whiplash and other injuries. The EQB doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Chevrolet Blazer EV achieved a “Good” rating - the highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Mercedes EQB has not been tested.

The Blazer EV’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the EQB.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV comes with a standard HD Surround Vision and it also offers an optional rear camera washer to make backing always safe, regardless of road dirt or grime, while the Mercedes EQB doesn’t offer a camera washer, requiring manual cleaning.

Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Blazer EV 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Mercedes covers the EQB. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the EQB ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The Blazer EV’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the EQB’s (6 vs. 5 years).

For better traction, the Blazer EV has larger standard tires than the EQB (255/60R19 vs. 235/50R19). The Blazer EV RS’ tires are larger than the largest tires available on the EQB (275/45R21 vs. 235/50R19).

The Blazer EV’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the EQB’s optional 45 series tires.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Blazer EV has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the EQB only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Blazer EV has standard extendable sun visors. The EQB doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Both the Blazer EV and the EQB offer optional heated front seats. The Blazer EV also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated second row seats aren’t available in the EQB.

The Blazer EV is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the EQB, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Blazer EV offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the EQB.
